Mr. Mumford @TESD

September 26, 2024 – Day 5

Tech Ed 8

For this class you need:

When you get to your seats:

  • Open VEXCode IQ
  • Go to Schoology –> Unit 5: Arm & Control

During class:

  1. Finish all challenges and submit the documentation for them
  2. Finish Unit 3.
  3. Begin Unit 5 and submit Clawbot Build

REMEMBER: I need to see your robot complete the challenge and you need to submit the assignment for full points.

Goals

  • Finish all challenges and submit documentation
  • Get 50% through building the Clawbot.

  • HW: Anything outstanding?

ITEEA Standards for Technological and Engineering Literacy (STEL)

STEL-2M – Differentiate between inputs, processes, outputs, and feedback in technological systems

STEL-2N – Illustrate how systems thinking involves considering relationships between every part, as well as how the system interacts with the environment in which it is used

STEL-2P – Create a closed-loop system that has a feedback path and requires no human intervention

STEL-2Q – Predict outcomes of a future product or system at the beginning of the design process

STEL-7Q – Apply the technology and engineering design process

STEL-7R – Refine design solutions to address criteria and constraints

STEL-8J – Use devices to control technological systems

STEL-8L – Interpret the accuracy of information collected

Computer Science Teaching Association(CSTA) Computer Science Standards

2-AP-10 Algorithms and Programming | Use flowcharts and/or pseudocode to address complex problems as algorithms

2-AP-13 Algorithms and Programming | Decompose problems and subproblems into parts to facilitate the design, implementation, and review of programs.

2-AP-17 Algorithms and Programming | Systematically test and refine programs using a range of test cases.

2-AP-19 Algorithms and Programming | Document programs in order to make them easier to follow, test, and debug.

2-CS-02 Computing Systems | Design projects that combine hardware and software components to collect and exchange data.
